Here is another amazing octopus fact for you. They have 9 brains! There is a main brain in the mantle and one basic brain in each arm. This allows the arms to move independently and send messages to each other, bypassing the main control center brain.
We have some more incredible news!!!! We just got the release on this lovely photo of our story's inspiration. Monterey Bay Aquarium and Research Institute has been kind enough to allow this photograph in our book.

Here we are at Day 3; 57 backers and 57% funded!
And yes, I've had to pull out the thesaurus to find new words for "grateful". This came up on my feed from last October. I was feeling accomplished, seeing the book take form. Luckily, I didn't know how far we were from the finish line. I would have quit.
Having everyone's support and help in making our book come to actualization has been overwhelming. Kate and I just have perma-goofy smiles plastered on our faces right now.
